Clients will meet Tour Leader and Support Vehicle at a suitable location close to Algeciras, on the day BEFORE departure, when a vehicle and personal document checklist will be issued. Next morning, ferry tickets issued, questions answered, last minute shopping done we catch the first available ferry to.....MOROCCO... Well Ceuta actually but we are on are way! The exact meeting place at Algeciras will be issued in good time and will offer FREE overnight parking for the nights prior and return from your tour. We also have a full facility ( electric, washing machine, Internet etc. ) campsite inland near Malaga that is also available for clients, subject to availability and conditions. CostsPrices are PER PERSON and shown in EUROS. What you getOur fully supported tour package is comprehensive and extensive, making our tours almost "all inclusive". See below, and send for our extensive information pack. Huge truck support vehicle………On most tours you will be accompanied by a custom built Mercedes U1300L Unimog 4x4 truck. So, in the unlikely case of need recovery is not a problem. The truck tows a one-ton trailer that not only carries supplies and catering equipment but also every type of tool we hope is never needed. On many tours we also use a second “runner/sweep” support vehicle. Experienced Tour Leader………Invariably myself. Born in Canada but lived mostly in the UK. Full Time Moroccan staff………We have a number of FULL TIME Moroccan staff who have been with us many years, in particular Sibha Hassan and Ibraham A’Hammed. Both have sons who are now in training with us. One or more of these will join our tours. As well as everyday assistance and providing invaluable local and national knowledge we are also covered for Arabic and Berber as well as most local dialects. Open Algeciras-Ceuta return ferry…….Your open return ferry crossing is provided in the tour cost [ conditions apply ]. We use only the high speed luxury services. The open return means that should you decide to stay on in Morocco your return crossing is covered. All Camp and location fees………During the tour we cover ALL camping and service fees as well as any charges for “wilderness camping”. We also cover daily parking fees. Additional guides…….On occasions where we provide planned tours, for example Volubillis and Meski Kasbha etc. For these we provide knowledgeable guides. Additional entry fees……… Entry fees for planned visits to Museums, places of interest etc that require an entry fee will be covered. Security………Whenever vehicle are left [for tours or visits] we provide guardians. This also applies to “wilderness camps” where overnight security is provided. Free pre/post-tour location costs………It is required that you arrive at the meeting point the day before departure to Morocco. Overnight charges are covered. Your costs are also covered should you wish to return to the location on your return. Free pre-tour camping………Some clients may wish to arrive in Southern Spain before the tour start. We have use of a small, but full facility, site about 20km inland from Malaga. Ask for details. Full and comprehensive schedule………A tour itinerary is provided. In addition daily briefings will ensure that you are at all times aware of add-on or changes in the route as well as detailed local information. FAQ Sheets and Comprehensive Moroccan Info Document………Said to be the best available on the internet this document should cover any points or questions you mat have regarding a Motorhome or Caravan tour of Morocco. This document is issued when your booking is confirmed. You are also entitled to unlimited pre-tour questions. All vehicle and personal documentation………Your Tour Leader will ensure that all your vehicle and personal documentation, as well as the extensive form completion, is in order and will carry out formalities at border control. Some traditional meals………During the tour we encourage the sampling of local dishes. At least two full course traditional meals are included in the tour cost. Traditional Entertainment………We DO NOT run a Rally style tour, but we will take every opportunity to sample local entertainment and events. In such cases any costs will be covered. Discounted purchases……. We will assist with local purchases and in restaurants where cost is not covered to ensure that you are only charged “Local or Discounted Rates” and not the “Tourist Rate”. PromotionsAs the leading motorhome/caravan tour operator in Morocco Desert Detours are sometimes offered items for promotional, incentive or publicity purposes. These items are often substantial i.e. GPS units, ipods, generator etc. And we ALWAYS pass these befits/items on to our clients..... Just check our news page for details. Key to Festivals and EventsAtlantic Sahara is a combination of High Atlas via Jbel Ayachi and Tizzi-n-Tichka. Sahara/Dunes at Zagora and Mhammid. Imperial Marrakech and The Atlantic via Essaouira and Moulay Bousselham. Classic Atlas-Sahara is High Atlas via Jbel Ayachi, Ceder Forest near Azrou, Sahara/Dunes at Erg Chebbi and the Imperial cities of either Meknes or Fes. Sahara Xmas shopping at the souks of Fes and Mecknes, Atlas crossing, Oasis [Meski] feast, Xmas/Boxing days at Erg Chebbi Dunes. Atlantic/Sahara/Imperial/New Year is as the Atlantic Sahara but with “special” times at Marrakech and Essaouira. Summer Special is cool Cedra Forrest and Todra with desert/oasis visit Recce is a “Have a look and see” High Atlas crossing to Sahara via the lakes at Imilchil and Berber villages.
